Deer Hunt 2010

You should be so proud it has only been a few weeks and I am already doing another post. If you saw my last blog I only did two posts in about two years. So… These past few weeks have been so much fun. Trevor and I went hunting with Kim and Sharisa in Parowan. We drove down on Friday so that we could go spotting the night before. Kim had been looking at this one spot for a few weeks and there were some really good ones there. However the night before some dumb people decided to set up their camp right in the middle of where the herd runs through each morning and night. So that plan was a little spoiled to sit where they came through. But the next morning we got up and went to the mountain and split up. Trevor and I went to one side of the mountain to watch over a meadow and Kim and Sharisa went about a mile or so away to set up for their hunt. The hike wasn’t too bad thank goodness. A little after 8 we heard shots and were really hoping that the shots were from Kim and/or Sharisa’s gun. Luckily we had cell phone service and Sharisa called and said that she had gotten her deer. I was so happy that she got it. She shot a 3 x 4 with a 20 inch spread. It was a nice looking deer. Trevor and I walked around for a while but didn’t see anything. As we were sitting on our side of the mountain we hear a shot from the opposite side of the ravine and saw the deer run across an opening. We then saw guys running around on the same side as the deer about 20 min later we heard cheering. Way too much cheering for my liking cuz we had not seen a thing. The whole way he was dragging the deer down the side of the mountain he was cheering so my guess is it was his first deer or the biggest one he had got. The rest of the hunt was about the same never saw anything but doe other than a spike but was too far from us for me to dare to take a shot. Before the hunt started Kim asked if I was going to be picky but I said that “I didn’t’ have any standards” I knew what I meant but everyone else in the car made fun for how I said it for meaning I just wanted my first one. But that was about how the hunt went for us. Thanks Kim and Sharisa for the fun time and the hunt.

  1. That sounds like so much fun! I'm glad you and Trevor got to get out for a bit and be together! You look cute in orange! I'm jealous! I always just look like a giant orange marshmellow!
